It’s simply a cultural misunderstanding that Parisians are rude. Begin every exchange with a “bonjour”, or “excusez-moi de vous déranger” (I’m sorry to disturb you) and they’ll charm the pants right off you. So when you’re done with the sightseeing, stay a little while and discover why Hemingway famously wrote that “if you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
